The Nutrition Drive for Healthy Diet Initiative (NDDI) Africa, with support from the International Society for Behavioural Nutrition and Physical Activity (ISBNPA), is launching a 6-month research study. This initiative is designed to help young Nigerians build sustainable habits around healthy eating and physical activity through digital support and professional guidance.

 Study Overview

  • Goal: To test how mobile apps and digital nutrition counseling can help young adults manage their weight and improve their lifestyle.

  • Duration: 6 Months.

  • Support: Participants will receive structured guidance from trained healthcare professionals and access to digital health tools.

 Eligibility Criteria

To participate in this study, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Age: 18 – 40 years old.

  • Residency: Must be a current resident of Nigeria.

  • Tech: Must own a smartphone with reliable internet access.

  • Health Status: Individuals who self-identify as overweight or living with obesity.

 Priority Locations

While open to all Nigerians, priority for assessments will be given to residents in:

  • South: Umuahia, Abakaliki, Abeokuta, Ile-Ife, Asaba, Uyo.

  • North/Central: Abuja (FCT), Jos, Yola, Gombe, Zaria, Katsina.

 How the Process Works

  1. Expression of Interest: Fill out the screening form. (Note: This is the first step and does not guarantee a spot).

  2. Screening: The study team will contact eligible respondents for a baseline health assessment.

  3. Enrollment: Selected participants will begin the 6-month program using the provided digital tools.
