Are you a seasoned MERL professional ready to make a significant impact on health systems in Nigeria? Sanitas Health and Development Foundation (SANHDEF), a leading Nigerian NGO focused on sustainable development, is looking for a Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) Advisor to join their team in Kano.

SANHDEF, established in 2022 by experienced development experts, is dedicated to addressing complex community challenges in healthcare, education, environment, and social empowerment across Nigeria. They’ve partnered with the Gates Foundation on a vital three-year Health System Strengthening (HSS) Project in Kano State, aiming to optimize health systems and build resilient healthcare infrastructure.

As the MERL Advisor, you’ll be instrumental in shaping the MERL framework for this critical project. Your role involves:

• Leading MERL design and implementation for the PHC strengthening project.
• Providing technical leadership to ensure high-quality, timely monitoring and evaluation.
• Building the capacity of project teams and partners.
• Driving data-driven decision-making and contributing to strategic goals.
• Designing and implementing comprehensive M&E frameworks, including data collection, management, quality assurance, and visualization.
• Conducting baseline assessments and operational research studies.
• Promoting a culture of learning and continuous improvement.

• What you’ll bring:

• An advanced degree in Public Health, Statistics, or a related field.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in MERL advisory roles, ideally with donor-funded projects.
• Strong expertise in data management, visualization, statistical analysis (SPSS, STATA, R), and research methodologies.
• Demonstrated leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders and familiarity with Nigeria’s health landscape, especially Kano State.
• Proficiency in Power BI for data visualization.
• Commitment to gender equality, equity, and social inclusion.
