About the Role: Field Assistant
As a Field Assistant, you will be instrumental in the direct support and implementation of field activities, particularly within the FSL project. You’ll play a key role in ensuring participatory approaches are used, from identifying beneficiaries to conducting awareness campaigns and monitoring activities under the direct supervision of the Field Officer.

What You’ll Be Doing (Key Responsibilities):
Your role will involve a range of impactful activities:
- Supporting all FSL activities, including beneficiary targeting and general program implementation.
- Conducting training and sensitization activities related to the FSL project.
- Assisting Field Officers in project implementation to ensure activities are completed on time.
- Arranging pre and post-distribution meetings.
- Carrying out information dissemination for project activities.
- Supporting the protection of beneficiaries’ rights and ensuring compliance with INTERSOS standards.
- Managing GFA (General Food Assistance) activities’ volunteering workers.
- Actively participating in post-distribution monitoring.
- Tracking new arrivals and registering new beneficiaries.
- Delivering key sensitization messages.
- Organizing Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) as needed.
- Identifying capacity building needs to your immediate supervisor.
- Implementing other tasks related to the INTERSOS Country Program in Nigeria.

Who They’re Looking For (Position Requirements):
INTERSOS is seeking candidates who possess the following:
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of a National Diploma.
- At least 1 year of experience in a national-level project implementation position within a humanitarian/recovery context.
- Experience working in complex and volatile contexts.
- Documented results related to the responsibilities of this position.
- Fluency in English, Hausa & Kanuri or Shuwa (both written and spoken).
- Capacity to adapt to basic living conditions, demonstrating patience.
- Ability to put up with job pressure and deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Commitment to working within the framework of INTERSOS Nigeria’s core values and acting as a professional ambassador.
- Adherence to all INTERSOS policies and procedures (technical and administrative).
- Willingness to undertake and apply learning from appropriate training and development programs.
- Responsibility for maintaining and caring for all equipment issued.
