About the Role
The Registrar will be responsible for ensuring the smooth registration and admission of patients at MSF health facilities, preparing them for consultations in line with MSF protocols. This is a crucial role that combines patient-facing duties with essential data management and reporting.
Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities will be split into patient management and data management:
- Patient Management:
- Greet and orient patients and their families, ensuring a comfortable waiting environment.
- Manage patient flow to prevent overcrowding and long waiting times.
- Check the vaccination status of children under 5 and refer them for immunization if necessary.
- Data & Reporting:
- Accurately register patient administrative details and assign identification bracelets.
- Record patient exits (cured, defaulter, etc.) and maintain confidentiality of all information.
- Keep accurate daily records of patients and ensure all registers are updated.
- Collaborate with the nursing and health worker teams to track defaulters and assist with daily, weekly, and monthly statistics reports.

Requirements
- Education: Essential literacy.
- Experience: No prior experience is required.
- Languages: Fluency in both English and Hausa (reading, writing, and oral comprehension) is essential.
- Knowledge: Basic computer literacy, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and the internet.
- Competencies: You should be results-oriented, a strong communicator, a team player, and adaptable, with a strong commitment to MSF’s mission.
