Community Based Facilitator/Advisor at DEC in Bauchi & Nasarawa
The Development Exchange Centre (DEC), a women-focused non-governmental organization, is seeking qualified Community Based Facilitators/Advisors to join its team on the CASCADE Project. This is a six-month contract position located in various Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Bauchi and Nasarawa States.
The ideal candidates will provide essential advisory services to project participants and help implement a program designed to increase access to healthy diets and build household resilience against economic and climate-related shocks.
Key Responsibilities
- Community Mobilization & Training: Lead community and stakeholder mobilization efforts. Support the training of women and youth groups on improved agro-processing technologies, business management skills, and climate-smart agriculture.
- Advisory & Linkage Services: Provide basic agribusiness and veterinary advisory services to smallholder farmers. Facilitate linkages between farmers and financial service providers or input traders.

- Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor the activities of cooperatives and enterprises. Conduct case management and follow-up visits, and report all activities to the Agricultural Livelihood Officers.
- Demand Generation: Actively participate in activities to generate demand for various agribusiness products.
Qualifications & Experience
- A minimum of an NCE/ND/NG Certificate. A degree is an added advantage.
- Must have at least 6 months of prior experience as a Community Facilitator or Village Agent on a similar project.
- Must be a resident of one of the project-implementing LGAs in Bauchi or Nasarawa State.

- Must have undergone relevant training in areas like Farmer Field and Business School (FFBS) or Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA) methodology.
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills with the ability to communicate fluently in both English and local languages (Hausa).
