The Center for Advocacy, Transparency, and Accountability Initiative (CATAI) is recruiting a GBV Officer to lead Gender-Based Violence prevention and response interventions in Adamawa State. This role focuses on survivor-centered case management and the technical oversight of protection activities in humanitarian settings.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Oversight: Supervise day-to-day GBV case management and ensure adherence to survivor-centered principles and global protection standards.

Data Management (GBVIMS): Ensure the safe, ethical, and accurate use of the Gender-Based Violence Information Management System (GBVIMS) for documentation and reporting.

Program Implementation: Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and integrate GBV services into broader health and protection programs.

Capacity Building: Lead training sessions for staff, community volunteers, and government partners (SMOH) on GBV prevention and case management.

Safe Spaces: Facilitate information desks at Women’s and Girls’ Safe Spaces (WGSS) to provide Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) information and identify at-risk individuals.

Reporting: Prepare monthly narrative and statistical reports, ensuring data confidentiality and “Do No Harm” ethics.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Gender Studies, Development Studies, or a related field.

GBV Expertise: Deep knowledge of IASC GBV Guidelines and survivor-centered multi-sectoral approaches.

Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with GBVIMS tools (intake forms, incident classification, and consent management).

Regional Experience: Previous work in North-East or North-West Nigeria is highly desirable.

Communication: Fluency in English; proficiency in local languages is an added advantage.

Tech Skills: High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
