Global Peace Development (GPD), a dedicated NGO focused on peacebuilding, social justice, and good governance, is seeking a motivated WASH Intern to join its team in Damaturu, Yobe State.  Key Responsibilities

• Field Implementation: Support the planning and execution of WASH activities, including water supply and sanitation projects in target communities.

• Community Engagement: Assist in mobilizing community members for sensitization sessions and hygiene promotion trainings.

• Monitoring & Maintenance: Participate in field visits to inspect the functionality of boreholes, latrines, and handwashing stations.

• Data & Documentation: Support data collection for baseline assessments and document field activities, success stories, and lessons learned.

• Logistics Support: Assist in the distribution and tracking of essential WASH materials and hygiene kits to beneficiaries.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Minimum of an HND or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, Water Resources Management, Civil Engineering, or Environmental Science.

• Knowledge: Basic understanding of hygiene promotion, sanitation, and water safety concepts is an advantage.

• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to write clear reports and collect field data.

• Language: Effective communication in English is required; knowledge of local languages spoken in Yobe State is a plus.

• Aptitude: Must be willing to work in field-based settings and engage directly with vulnerable populations.
