Social Safety Net Officer – Action Against Hunger (ACF)

Action Against Hunger (ACF) is looking for a dedicated Social Safety Net Officer to join the RESILAC project team in Damaturu, Yobe State. This role is central to strengthening the resilience of vulnerable households through cash transfers, educational support, and emergency response initiatives.

 Key Responsibilities

1. Social Safety Net & Education Delivery

  • Cash Transfers: Execute plans for conditional and emergency cash/voucher assistance (CVA).

  • Vulnerability Mapping: Identify and select marginalized groups, prioritizing women and girls.

  • Education Linkage: Collaborate with the Ministry of Education to provide scholarships and link literacy training with economic recovery.

2. Program Management & Monitoring

  • Asset Rehabilitation: Oversee labor-intensive activities to rehabilitate community assets.

  • Budgeting: Manage project interventions’ budgets, cash projections, and procurement requests.

  • Data Reporting: Maintain sex-disaggregated data and contribute to monthly technical reports and case studies.

3. Integration & Performance

  • Cross-Sectoral Links: Integrate social protection with health, nutrition, and livelihood sectors.

  • Climate Resilience: Incorporate sustainable, climate-smart solutions into emergency-development programming.

  • Team Leadership: Set performance objectives and provide professional coaching to team members.

 Requirements & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Education, Social Work, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years implementing Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA) and social protection programs.

  • Sector Knowledge: Proven experience in humanitarian advocacy and working with government officials and community leaders.

  • Skills: Strong communication, budget monitoring, and the ability to work in high-pressure environments.
