Role Overview

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is looking for hardworking and reliable individuals to join our pool of Casual Workers in Abuja. This role provides essential manual support to our logistics, administration, and program teams. It is a flexible, “as-needed” position perfect for those looking for short-term work in a professional humanitarian environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Logistics & Warehouse Support

Loading & Unloading: Assist in moving supplies, equipment, and humanitarian aid materials from delivery trucks to storage.
Storage Organization: Help arrange warehouse items and maintain a clean, orderly storage environment.
Distribution Assistance: Support the team during the distribution of items to beneficiaries or community centers.

2. Office & Facility Maintenance

Furniture Movement: Assist with relocating office furniture, setting up workstations, or rearranging rooms for events.
Event Setup: Help set up tables, chairs, and equipment for meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
General Cleaning: Assist in heavy-duty cleaning tasks or clearing outdoor spaces within the compound.

3. Manual Labor

Carry out basic manual tasks as directed by the Supply Chain or HR/Admin officers.
Ensure all equipment and tools used are handled safely and returned to their proper place.

Requirements & Skills

Physical Fitness: Must be strong and capable of lifting heavy items and performing manual labor for extended periods.
Education: Minimum of an SSCE or equivalent experience.
Communication: Ability to follow verbal and written instructions clearly in English.
Reliability: Must be punctual, honest, and ready to work on short notice.
Attitude: A positive, “can-do” approach and the ability to work well as part of a team.
