About the Project
Ikore is implementing a high-impact, one-year project aimed at revolutionizing the livestock vaccine market. The goal is to achieve a 40% increase in vaccination coverage for diseases such as PPR, CBPP, and Lumpy Skin Disease. By improving “last-mile” delivery and strengthening veterinary service systems, Ikore aims to protect the livelihoods of smallholder livestock producers in Adamawa and Kaduna.
Role Summary
The Field Officer is the boots-on-the-ground leader at the LGA level. You will coordinate community engagement, supervise vaccination campaigns, and manage field actors (Agrovets, Paravets, and Community Animal Health Workers). This role is critical for bridging the gap between commercial vaccine distributors and rural farmers.

Key Responsibilities
1. Field Implementation & Coordination

Lead daily project activities and develop community-level implementation plans.

Onboard Agrovets and facilitate partnerships with commercial vaccine distributors.
2. Last-Mile Service Delivery
-
Identify priority communities and supervise vaccination activation campaigns.

Monitor service delivery agents and support local disease surveillance.
3. Technology & M&E
-
Train field actors on digital reporting tools (Kobo/ODK) and onboard farmers onto project platforms.

Ensure accurate collection and verification of vaccination records and field data.
4. Stakeholder Engagement

Act as the primary liaison between Ikore, traditional leaders, and livestock associations.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education: B.Sc. or HND in Animal Science, Veterinary Technology, Agricultural Extension, or a related field.

Experience: 2–3 years in livestock or rural development projects. Experience in animal health interventions is highly desirable.

Skills: * Proficiency in Hausa (Required).

Familiarity with digital data tools like Kobo or ODK.

Strong community mobilization and communication skills.

Residency: Crucial. Candidates must reside in the specific LGA they are applying for.
