Role Summary

As a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT), the Program Operations Lead is the bridge between high-level country strategy and ground-level operational excellence. You will provide oversight for the entire project portfolio, ensuring that annual business plans translate into measurable health impacts while fostering a culture of performance and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Contribute to the SMT to drive organizational growth and institutionalize a high-performance culture.

  • Operational Planning: Convert the country strategy into actionable annual plans with clear KPIs, deliverables, and aligned budgets.

  • Business Development: Lead annual business planning and provide strategic input for proposals to secure funding from major donors (Global Fund, USAID, BMGF).

  • Risk & Compliance: Manage enterprise-wide risks, ensuring all programs adhere to both internal PSI standards and external donor regulations.

  • Performance Management: Champion innovation and impact measurement, ensuring continuous improvement across multi-disciplinary teams.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Master’s degree in Public Health, Business Administration (MBA), or International Development.

  • Leadership: 10–12 years of progressive experience in program operations, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.

  • Donor Expertise: Proven track record managing complex health portfolios funded by The Global Fund, USAID, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, or UNICEF.

  • Financial Oversight: Strong experience in multi-million dollar budget management, compliance, and risk mitigation.

  • Contextual Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Nigerian health system and the local socio-political donor landscape.
