Position: Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) Specialist

 About the Project – WAFPUR

The West African Fortified Parboiled Unpolished Rice (WAFPUR) project aims to improve nutrition and food systems by promoting healthier rice consumption through school feeding programs. Operating in Kano and Ogun States, the project also supports local rice millers by increasing demand for fortified and whole grain brown rice.

 Job Summary

The MEL Specialist will lead data collection, analysis, and learning for the project. Working closely with the Project Manager and technical team, you will ensure accurate reporting, contribute to adaptive project management, and guide data-informed decision-making throughout the program lifecycle.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and implement all MEL activities for the project

  • Develop and manage data collection tools and databases

  • Conduct regular data quality assessments and data analysis

  • Train project staff on MEL tools and techniques

  • Monitor project indicators and learning questions

  • Capture lessons learned and contribute to internal knowledge sharing

  • Ensure gender and social inclusion in MEL processes

  • Support development of project reports and dashboards

  • Collaborate with TechnoServe’s Global MEL team to meet organizational standards

 Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field + 3 years MEL experience (or Master’s + 1 year)

  • Experience in monitoring and evaluation for donor-funded projects

  • Strong skills in data collection, analysis, and visualization

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint

  • Strong written and spoken English
