About the Program

The DBN Entrepreneurship Training Programme (DBNETP), now in its 7th cycle, is a flagship initiative by the Development Bank of Nigeria aimed at building the capacity of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Nigeria. With over 4,000 MSMEs trained so far, DBN continues to drive business sustainability, growth, and access to finance across Nigeria.

Program Objectives

  • Equip MSMEs with the knowledge to develop sound business proposals.

  • Improve MSMEs’ ability to access and utilize credit efficiently.

  • Strengthen skills for trade, investment, and market access.

Who Can Apply?

 Nigerian citizens or legal residents aged 18 years and above
 Owners of for-profit businesses located anywhere in Nigeria
 Entrepreneurs from any sector
 Must be available for the training schedule
 Willing to complete virtual course requirements

Training Structure

Virtual Training

  • Self-paced on the BizAid App

  • 9 learning modules

  • Mandatory completion of 4 key courses:

    • Accounting & Bookkeeping

    • Sustainability for MSMEs

    • Marketing and Sales Techniques

    • Credit Management/Access to Finance

  • Minimum 80% average score on quizzes required

Onsite Training

  • 5-day practical sessions in Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt

  • 300 top-performing businesses will be shortlisted

Pitching & Grant Awards

  • Final pitch session for all onsite participants

  • Winners will receive grants ranging from ₦500,000 to ₦1,000,000
