About the Role

As a Programme Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the planning, management, and implementation of UNFPA’s sexual and reproductive health (SRH) programs within the assigned state. You will work closely with program and project staff, offering essential programmatic and administrative support to the SRH Unit.

This position is a Local Service Contract (LSC-5), based in the Program Offices in Ilorin, Yola, or Sokoto. You will report directly to the Programme Specialist (SRH) under the overall supervision of the Resident Representative.

How You’ll Make a Difference (Roles and Responsibilities):

Your responsibilities will span three key areas:

1. Programme Implementation Support:

  • Help identify and formulate country programs and projects by gathering and analyzing information.
  • Ensure proper documentation and processing of Annual Work Plans and financial forms from Implementing Partners.
  • Support the evaluation of project activities, conduct field visits, participate in review meetings, and help prepare progress reports, identifying factors affecting results and recommending solutions.

2. Programme Administrative Support:

  • Provide administrative and programmatic assistance for routine project implementation, including supporting input delivery and activity facilitation.
  • Offer logistical support to the SRH unit, coordinating meetings, workshops, and events.
  • Guide project personnel and staff on national execution and program policies.
  • Facilitate travel processing for Programme Officers.

3. Programme Monitoring and Knowledge Management Support:

  • Contribute to knowledge sharing by synthesizing findings, lessons learned, success stories, and best practices, and drafting materials for dissemination.
  • Support advocacy and resource mobilization efforts by compiling background materials for discussions and public events.
  • Ensure proper management of the office’s filing and archiving system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Representative or designate.
