TechnoServe is a non-profit organization that develops business solutions to poverty. We are recruiting a dedicated and professional Driver to support our Plastics Recycling Program in Southern Nigeria. This is a full-time role based in Kano, where you will provide reliable and safe transportation services.

About the Role

As a Driver for the PREP project, you will be a key member of the operations team, ensuring the secure and timely transport of project staff, visitors, and important documents. The ideal candidate has a client-oriented approach, a high sense of responsibility, and a strong commitment to safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Provide reliable driving services for the project team, transporting personnel and materials.
Perform proper day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle and arrange for major repairs as needed.
Accurately log fuel consumption and maintenance records.
Ensure all necessary documents and supplies, such as vehicle insurance and a first-aid kit, are always available.
Apply defensive driving techniques and adhere to all safety rules and regulations.

Provide basic security management support by assessing and mitigating risks.
Assist with administrative tasks like office relocation and setting up for meetings.

Requirements

A minimum of a relevant secondary academic qualification; a National or Higher National Diploma is an added advantage.
A valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
Minimum of 2 years of work experience as a driver, with previous experience with NGOs or international agencies preferred.
Knowledge of driving rules and vehicle repair.
Familiarity with the local language and terrain in Kano is highly desirable.
Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time.
