
MAMII State Focal Person: Maternal Health Role in 6 States
The Maternal Mortality Reduction Initiative (MAMII) is a key program in Nigeria aimed at improving maternal health outcomes. We are seeking a State Focal Person to play a vital role in supporting the effective implementation, supervision, and monitoring of this initiative at the state level.
This role requires a dedicated professional to ensure the successful delivery of maternal health interventions in collaboration with government and partner agencies. We are recruiting in the following locations: Kaduna, Borno, Ondo, Kebbi, Yobe, and Bauchi.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Implementation & Supervision: Facilitate the rollout of maternal health interventions and conduct routine supervisory visits to health facilities, community groups, and outreach sites.
- Community Engagement: Oversee the activities of community health volunteers and support the tracking and linkage of pregnant women to health facilities.
- Data Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor and verify key maternal health indicators, such as facility-based deliveries and antenatal care attendance. Prepare comprehensive reports to highlight progress and inform continuous improvement.

- Health System Oversight: Ensure health facilities are following standard protocols and verify the availability of essential maternal commodities. You will also monitor emergency transport and health insurance systems.
Qualifications & Experience
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Nursing, Community Development, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in maternal health, community health, or health program supervision.
- Proven experience in monitoring health interventions, community engagement, and referral systems.
- Strong organizational, supervisory, and coordination skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and reporting skills.
- The ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
