Project Officer Sr – Catholic Relief Services (Maiduguri)

Catholic Relief Services (CRS) is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Officer to serve as the field lead for the INTO-MAMI Project in Maiduguri, Borno State. This role is critical for improving nutrition outcomes for mothers and children through the management of acute malnutrition in emergency settings.

Role Overview

Position: Project Officer Sr (Nigerian Nationals Only)
Location: Maiduguri, Borno State (On-site)
Travel: Up to 40% field travel required.
Supervisory Scope: Partner Nutrition Officers, CRS CAT Officer, and MEAL Officer.

Key Responsibilities

Field Leadership: Coordinate and lead the implementation of the INTO-MAMI (Management of Acute Malnutrition in Infants) and CMAM (Community-based Management of Acute Malnutrition) project activities.
Technical Guidance: Provide expert advice to staff and local implementing partners to ensure adherence to CRS quality standards and donor requirements.
Stakeholder Liaison: Serve as the primary link between CRS and local stakeholders to mobilize communities and promote project impact.
Financial & Resource Oversight: Perform budget reviews and track resource use to ensure timely execution and fiscal accountability.
Monitoring & Evaluation: Lead technical nutrition assessments and coordinate with MEAL teams to document trends, case studies, and promising practices.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Public Health, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Experience: Minimum 5 years of work experience in community development and management of MAMI, CMAM, and MIYCN-E projects, specifically in Northeast Nigeria.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office and experience conducting nutrition surveillance and information system assessments.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory; working knowledge of Hausa is a significant advantage.
Competencies: Strong problem-solving skills, proactive relationship management, and a commitment to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.

Working Relationships

Internal: Emergency Coordinator, MEAL Officer, Head of Office, and Operations teams in Abuja and Damaturu.
External: Government agencies, community leaders, and other International NGO partners.
