International IDEA, a global intergovernmental organization dedicated to sustainable democracy, is recruiting a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer for its high-impact programme: “EU Support to End Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (ESGBV) in Nigeria.” This role is essential for ensuring that initiatives to protect the rights of women and girls are measurable, transparent, and effective.
About the ESGBV Programme
This initiative aims to reduce Sexual and Gender-Based Violence across Nigeria by:

Strengthening laws and policies to tackle impunity.

Expanding access to survivor-centered essential services.
-
Driving social-norm change and improving access to a gender-sensitive justice sector.

Advancing SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions).

Key Responsibilities

Framework Development: Design and implement comprehensive M&E frameworks and tools that align with both EU donor requirements and International IDEA standards.

Technical Leadership: Lead all activity and outcome reporting, ensuring data-driven insights inform adaptive project management.

Data Coordination: Facilitate the collection, analysis, and interpretation of programme data across regional offices and Headquarters.

Capacity Building: Provide technical guidance to programme staff and partners on results-based management and M&E best practices.

Quality Assurance: Facilitate external evaluations and audits, ensuring the highest level of methodological rigor and data integrity.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education: University degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Statistics, or Public Policy (Master’s degree preferred).

Experience: Proven experience in designing M&E systems, ideally within the SGBV, human rights, or governance sectors.

Skills: Proficiency in quantitative/qualitative data collection and analysis software.

Ethics: A strong commitment to ethical data handling in sensitive contexts related to gender-based violence.

Communication: Excellent English communication skills and the ability to coordinate with international donors and government stakeholders.
