Bridge for Women Development Initiative (BOWDI)
Bridge for Women Development Initiative (BOWDI), a national NGO active in Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe (BAY) States, is strengthening its operational and security teams. They are currently recruiting for two key positions based in Maiduguri to support their mission of gender equality and community empowerment.
1. Procurement and Logistics Officer
Location: Maiduguri, Borno State
Experience: 3–5 Years
Role Goal: To manage the end-to-end supply chain, ensuring that humanitarian goods and services are procured transparently and delivered to field locations cost-effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement: Prepare RFQs and ITBs, manage vendor databases, and ensure value for money in all selections.

Logistics: Oversee transportation, warehousing, fleet operations (fuel tracking/maintenance), and movement planning.

Asset Management: Maintain accurate registers and ensure proper tagging and storage of all organizational assets.

Compliance: Align all activities with donor requirements and prepare for audits.

2. Humanitarian Access, Safety and Security Officer (HASSO)
Location: Maiduguri (with field travel)
Experience: 3–5 Years
Role Goal: To ensure the safety of BOWDI staff and assets while facilitating access to hard-to-reach or conflict-affected communities.
Key Responsibilities:

Risk Analysis: Conduct regular Security Risk Assessments (SRAs) and update threat matrices for operational LGAs.

Access Negotiation: Build relationships with the military, police, community leaders, and humanitarian partners (UNDSS/LCG).

Operational Safety: Supervise security guards, conduct fire safety/first aid drills, and monitor staff movements via GPS and HF radios.

Documentation: Maintain incident logs and draft security advisories for field teams.

Requirements & Competencies

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Supply Chain/Admin for Procurement; Security/International Relations for HASSO).

Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required for both. HASSO candidates should also be familiar with HF radios and GPS tools.

Languages: Fluency in English and Hausa is essential; Kanuri is an added advantage.

Context: Prior experience working in Northeast Nigeria is highly preferred.
