Field Assistant (ROOSC Project) – Save the Children

Save the Children is recruiting Field Assistants for the Reaching Out-of-School Children (ROOSC) Project. This vital initiative aims to return marginalized children in Kaduna State to the classroom. The role focuses heavily on Accountability, ensuring that the voices of children and caregivers are heard and that the project remains transparent and responsive.

Role Overview

Position: Field Assistant (Accountability Focus)
Location: All 23 LGAs in Kaduna State (Applicants must reside in the LGA they apply for).
Deadline: January 26, 2026
Focus: Feedback & Reporting Mechanisms (FRM) and Community Engagement.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accountability & Feedback

Complaint Management: Monitor and document feedback from children and adults, ensuring concerns are referred for action safely and confidentially.
Translation: Translate feedback from local languages into English for database entry and analysis.
FRM Awareness: Conduct community sessions to teach people how to use feedback boxes and reporting tools.

2. Monitoring & Reporting

Data Collection: Gather community feedback using smartphones or tablets and maintain a meticulous database.
Learning Center Visits: Conduct routine monitoring of learning centers to ensure educational quality and child safety.
Reporting: Draft clear reports on activities, community concerns, and project challenges.

Qualifications & Requirements

Essential:

Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree.
Experience: 1–2 years in community programming or field data collection.
Local Knowledge: You must be deeply familiar with the culture and primary languages of your specific LGA in Kaduna.
Tech Skills: Proficiency in using mobile devices for data entry.

Added Advantage:

Knowledge of Child Safeguarding and protection principles.
Prior experience in education-sector projects.
