About the Opportunity
Jhpiego is seeking highly specialized Adhoc Consultants to bridge competency gaps in Comprehensive Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (CEmONC). This initiative focuses on public health facilities across five states to ensure healthcare workers can provide high-quality lifesaving services for women and newborns during the postnatal period.

Role Summary
The consultant will provide technical expertise in the setup, installation, and training related to newborn lifesaving equipment. This role is critical for ensuring that healthcare providers are not only equipped with tools but are fully competent in their use and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
In collaboration with Jhpiego, the consultant will:

Conduct preliminary orientations for healthcare providers on newly supplied lifesaving equipment.

Setup and install dedicated newborn corners in designated health facilities.

Facilitate in-depth training for facility staff on equipment usage and troubleshooting.

Perform post-training competency assessments for previously mentored healthcare workers.
-
Submit a comprehensive technical report within 5 working days of task completion.
Consultancy Timeline (5 Days)

Day 1: Verification of Supplied Equipment.

Day 2: Setting up and installation of Equipment.

Day 3: Technical Training.

Day 4: Competency Assessment.

Day 5: Report Writing.

Required Qualifications & Competencies
Essential Requirements:
-
Education: Advanced degree in Paediatrics or Neonatology.

Certification: Fellowship in Paediatrics from a recognized postgraduate medical institution (NPMCN/WAPMC).
-
Experience: Minimum of 5 years post-fellowship experience.
-
Licensing: Valid and up-to-date annual practicing license with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).

Skills: Strong coaching, mentoring, facilitation, and analytical skills.

Travel: Ability to travel (up to 70%) to various facilities within the assigned state.

Desirable:

Working knowledge of the Hausa language (for Northern locations) is a significant advantage.
Terms & Payment

Payment: ₦70,000 per day, payable upon submission of the activity log and final project report.

Reimbursements: Only expenses pre-approved by the Country/Project Director will be reimbursed according to Jhpiego policies.
