About PEBEC

The Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) is a specialized government agency tasked with removing bureaucratic constraints to doing business in Nigeria. PEBEC coordinates reforms across various ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) to make the Nigerian business environment more competitive, transparent, and efficient for local and international investors.

Role Summary

The Research Analyst serves as a core technical resource, providing the evidence-based data required to drive national policy reforms. You will be responsible for tracking reform progress, analysing regulatory bottlenecks, and synthesizing complex data into actionable policy briefs for high-level government decision-makers.

Key Responsibilities

Policy Research: Conduct high-quality academic and field research into regulatory frameworks and governance models.
Data Analytics: Collect and analyse data to track progress across key business environment indicators (e.g., starting a business, getting electricity, cross-border trade).
Technical Writing: Prepare concise policy briefs, memos, and presentations that translate research findings for stakeholders and reform partners.

Candidate Profile

This role is ideal for a highly analytical professional with a passion for public policy and economic governance.

Educational Background: Degree in Economics, Public Policy, Statistics, Development Studies, Political Science, or a related field.
Required Skills:
- Strong quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
- Exceptional writing skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Interests: Deep interest in private sector development, ease of doing business (EoDB) frameworks, and public sector performance improvement.
